Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some questions you may have.

Do you offer support to NDIS participants?

Yes, absolutely. NDIS participants are welcome to see our speech pathologists. If you or someone you know has an NDIS plan that includes communication-related goals, the plan is likely to allow for sessions with a speech pathologist. At this stage, we can work with NDIS participants whose plans are plan-managed and self-managed. We're anticipating that by December 2023 we'll also be able to service NDIA-managed participants. We're also able to see clients funded by Workcover, those with a Medicare plan, and privately-paying clients. We'll soon be able to see clients with private health insurance, too. Basically, everyone's welcome. Amazing!

How much does it cost?

We offer assessments, therapy sessions, reports writing, representation at care team meetings, consultation with other professionals, development of treatment plans, and therapy sessions. All rates are in line with those set by the NDIS. A standard 60-minute assessment or therapy session is $194, including approximately 50 minutes of direct assessment/therapy and handover with the client/parent/caregiver, plus 10 minutes of note-writing. The price of preparing written reports will depend on the type and complexity of report, but typically these are charged on a per-hour basis. Examples of situations where reports are often sought include for autism spectrum disorder assessments, NDIS reviews, TAC reports, PSD applications, Child Protection records, etc. Because we see clients in so many different locations, travel will often be factored in to the cost of the appointment. The specifics will be outlined in the Service Agreement when making a booking via our online booking system. Usually, 2.5 hours per report is a good rule of thumb. Get in touch with us if you have a specific request and we can have a chat.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

We can offer telehealth appointments but our preference is for face-to-face sessions. Telehealth sessions are offered on a case-by-case basis. A growing body of evidence supports the use of video-based appointments. Give us a call and we can have a chat about whether it would be suitable for your circumstances.
